This field trip is part of our continuing effort to learn from other communities. We will be visiting Kalaheo, Lawai, Omao Koloa, and Poipu and meeting with community leaders to understand their community issues, initiatives, development proposals, impacts and changing demographics.We will have special guides to share the inside stories on Kaneiolouma Heiau, Mahaulepu and Makauwahi Cave overlook. Other stops are Kukuiula Small Boat Harbor, Koloa Town, and drive through Kukuiula exclusive community.Bus trip and lunch are sponsored by: University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Hawaiʻinuiākea School of Hawaiian Knowledge- LAMA

Discuss an idea suggested by County Civil Defense that Hanapēpē-ʻEleʻele community consider getting involved in the Army National Guard’s Hawaii Hazards Awareness and Resilience Program (HHARP). If we are interested, the Army National Guard is offering to bring the HHARP lead from the Hawaiʻi Emergency Management Agency (formerly known as State Civil Defense) to meet with us.
